What is DarkSwarm?

DarkSwarm is a top-down tactical co-op shooter for 1–4 players with twin-stick and extraction-shooter DNA, set in a sci-fi horror universe. Alien swarms have overrun abandoned space colonies; you play a bioprinted mercenary on contract for Valstorm, a private military corporation, running dangerous jobs on lost colonial worlds.

Squads of four operatives — Assault, Engineer, Support and Infiltrator — deploy into procedurally generated facilities to recover resources and data, then fight their way back out. An orbital mission commander, Sara, directs operations from above. The art is handcrafted by the team, without generative AI.

A top-down tactical co-op shooter for 1–4 players by Bitfire Games, published by Ghost Ship Publishing (the Deep Rock Galactic publisher family). Squads of bioprinted mercenaries run extraction contracts against alien swarms on lost colony worlds.
When does DarkSwarm release?
Not announced. The Steam page lists a coming Early Access launch (expected around 2027), with alpha and beta playtests announced through the game's social channels first. This wiki tracks every confirmed date.
What are the four classes?
Assault, Engineer, Support and Infiltrator are confirmed on the Steam page. Their gear and loadouts are not published yet — each class page here will fill in during playtests, with TBA labels until then.
Is this the official wiki?
No. darkswarm.wiki is a fan-made community wiki, not affiliated with Bitfire Games or Ghost Ship Publishing. Game artwork used here is official promotional material, credited to its creators.
Where does the wiki's data come from?
Only from verified sources: the Steam store page and the developer's official channels. Until playtests publish real numbers, data-driven sections ship as visibly labeled TBA placeholders instead of guesses.
